Research Fellow

Joop Hartog retired from the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Amsterdam as professor of micro-economics in 2011 qnd as a guest researcher in 2021.
He graduated from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 1970, received an M.A. in economics from Queen's University in Kingston, Canada in 1971 and his Ph.D. from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 1978.
He is founder and former editor (1994-1999) of Labour Economics and has been a member of the editorial board of the Economics of Education Review.
He has published widely in such economics journals as European Economic Review, De Economist, Economics Letters, Applied Economics, Economics of Education Review and European Journal of Political Economy.
His current research interests are still in labor markets and economics of education.

Joop Hartog joined IZA as a Research Fellow in October 1999.
