Mariana Viollaz

Mariana Viollaz works with the Gender Group at the World Bank in Washington, DC, where she supports the women's jobs and leadership agendas.

Mariana’s research is focused on labor and gender economics in Latin America and the Caribbean and developing countries more generally. Her research has appeared in journals such as Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Development Studies, World Bank Research Observer, Review of Economics of the Household, Journal of Economic Inequality among others.

Mariana holds a Ph.D. in Economics, Masters degree in Economics, and BA in Economics from Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina. She has been a postdoctoral fellow at the ILR School of Cornell University.

Mariana Viollaz joined IZA as a Research Fellow in August 2021.
