Dr. Bhandari is an Assistant Professor at Department of Economics, Rishi Bankim Chandra Evening College, India. He received his Ph D in Economics from the University of Kalyani in 2007. He began his career as an economist in financial services industry. He is an active researcher, consultant and author in various development issues. Formerly a Lecturer in Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM). He has published a number of research papers in reputed journals and books. His research appears in Global Economic Review, Journal of Travel and Tourism Marketing, The Indian Journal of Industrial Relations, Renewable Energy etc. Currently he is the project director of several government research projects.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in August 2008.
