Zuzana Brixiova is Associate Professor of Economics at the Technical University of Ostrava. She is also Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Cape Town and a Research Fellow at the Global Labour Organization. Her research interests are development economics, entrepreneurship, labour economics and applied microeconomics. She has published in journals such as African Development Review, Development Policy Review, Economic Modelling, Economic Systems, Economics Letters, IMF Staff Papers, Journal of Globalization and Development, Macroeconomic Dynamics, Review of Development Economics, Small Business Economics, and World Development. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota.


She joined IZA as a Research Fellow in October 2011.
