Sandra V. Rozo works as a Senior Economist at the Research Group at the World Bank. Sandra’s main research focuses in advancing knowledge that informs policy around: i) the effects of forced migration within hosting economies and the role of policies that foster development for migrants and their hosting communities, and ii) the consequences of violence and conflict and how to mitigate those effects in developing countries. She holds a PhD and MA from UCLA, and a BA (magna cum laude) and MA from Universidad de los Andes. She is a IZA research fellow, a CEGA faculty affiliate, a faculty member of the Schaeffer Center for Health and Economics Policy, a research fellow at the Center for Economic and Social Research at USC, and an affiliate of the Households in Conflict Network (HiCN). She is also an Associate editor of the Journal of Development Economics. Her research has been published at the American Economic Review Papers and Proceedings, the Journal of Labor Economics, the Review of Economics and Statistics, and the Journal of Development Economics among other leading development journals. Sandra is a co-founder of the VenRePs Study, which collects longitudinal data on Venezuelan forcibly displaced individuals in Colombia, and the Syrian Refugee Life Study, which collects longitudinal study on Syrian refugees in Jordan. Sandra has ongoing work in Latin America, Middle East, and East Africa including multiple RCTs.
