Holger Bonin coordinates IZA's labor policy research activities as a Research Director since July 2016. He is also Professor of Labor Market and Social Policy at the University of Kassel.

From 2007-2016, he was head of the labor market department at the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) at Mannheim. Before, he already worked at IZA, first as Research Associate, and since 2003 as Senior Research Associate and Deputy Director of the program area "Evaluation of Labor Market Policies".

Holger's research focuses on the empirical analysis of the effectiveness of labor and family policy programs, the consequences of demographic and technological change, as well as migration and skilled labor supply. In addition to his research activities, he is actively engaged in evidence-based policy advice.
