I am an applied environmental and real estate economist working as an assistant professor at Maastricht University School of Business and Economics, department of Finance. I am also a visiting assistant professor at the MIT Center for Real Estate and the MIT Sustainable Urbanization Lab in the Center for Real Estate at MIT, and I am affiliated with IZA — Institute of Labor Economics.

My research concentrates on various topics in environmental, health, and real estate economics. My current research agenda includes estimating the consequences of environmental risks on human health and performance, and the associated behavioral responses.

I have taught courses in environmental economics, applied econometrics, real estate economics, and finance. My research has been covered by The Guardian, BBC, The Times, Bloomberg, Brookings, the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, The Marginal Revolution, and the Economisch Statistische Berichten (EBS), among others.
