Han Ye is an Assistant Professor in the Economics Department at the University of Mannheim. She is also a ZEW Research Associate and a member of the Collaborative Research Center CRC TR 224 “ Economic Perspectives on Societal Challenges”. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Boston University.

Her research agenda centers around the challenges raised by the demographic changes, particular population ageing. Most of her research projects focus around three key public policy issues: income security in old age; raising the retirement age; and the gender pension gap.

Han Ye became an IZA Affiliate in March 2018 and an IZA Fellow in December 2023.
