Anne Case
Anne Case
Emeritus Research Fellow

Anne Case is the Alexander Stewart 1886 Professor of Economics and Public Affairs at Princeton University, where she is the Director of the Research Program in Development Studies. Dr. Case has published extensively in the fields of development, public economics and health. Her recent work examines the effects of HIV and AIDS on health service delivery in Africa; the impact of orphanhood on children’s outcomes; social determinants of childhood health; and the impact of early life health and nutrition on health and cognitive function over the life course. She currently serves as an external member of the research committee of the World Bank, as a board member of the United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER) and as a member of the Economic Reference Group for UNAIDS.

Dr. Case is an Affiliate with the Southern Africa Labour and Development Research Unit (SALDRU) at the University of Cape Town, and a Visiting Scientist at the Africa Centre for Health and Population Studies at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She is a Fellow of the Econometric Society. She was also the recipient (with Christina Paxson) of the Kenneth J. Arrow Award in Health Economics.

She joined IZA as a Research Fellow in April 2012.
