Malgorzata Switek

Malgorzata Switek is currently an Assistant Professor of the Practice of Economics at University of Southern California.
Before that, she worked for three years in Economic Consulting specializing in the areas of antitrust and intellectual property. She obtained her Ph.D. in Economics at University of Southern California in May of 2014, and her M.A. in Economics in December of 2010 at the same University. Prior to entering the M.A. and Ph.D. programs she worked as a Research Assistant on projects related to Quality of Life in Latin America with Mariano H. Rojas.

Malgorzata’s research interests include labor, development and applied microeconomics. In particular she has published work related to the effects of public social spending on well-being differences between rural and urban areas in Latin America, and to the effects of the recent rapid economic growth (and accompanying economic changes) on well-being in China.

She joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in August 2012 and became a Research Fellow in July 2014.
