Research Fellow

Florian Englmaier studied Economics at the University of Munich where he received a PhD in Economics (summa cum laude) in 2005. Since fall 2013 he is a full Professor of Organizational Economics at the University of Munich (LMU). He serves also as director of the Munich Graduate School of Economics (MGSE), as co-director of the International Graduate Program "Evidence Based Economics", as PI of the CRC/TRR-190 "Rationality and Competition", as PI of the GRK1928 "Microdeterminants of Labor Productivity", as Deputy-chairman of the Committee of Organizational Economics within the German Economic Association, and as founding director of the Lecture Series in the Economics of Organizations and Human Ressources (LEOH).
Prior to his current appointment, he held chairs in Organizational Economics at the Universities of Konstanz and Würzburg, an assistant professor position at the University of Munich, a PostDoc Position at Harvard (joint appointment Economics Department and HBS), a PostDoc Position at University College London (ELSE) and has spent terms as a visiting scholar at the Stanford GSB and the Kellogg School of Management. His research interests are in Organizational Economics, Industrial Organization, Contract Theory, Behavioral Economics, and Political Economics.

Florian Englmaier was an IZA Research Affiliate from 2003-2008 and he rejoined IZA as a Research Fellow in December 2019.
