Torben M. Andersen, Ph.D., is professor in economics at the department of economics, University of Aarhus. He is research fellow at the CEPR, CESifo and since November 1999 of IZA. He holds an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics, a Lic.oecon. from the University of Aarhus, Denmark and a Ph.D. from the Université Catholique, Louvain-la-Neuve under the European Doctoral Programme in Economics. His main research interests are the macroeconomic implications of labor and product market structure and in particular the need and scope for economic policies. Current research interests include how international integration affect labor markets and challenges the welfare state. Various publications in books and internationally well-known journals. Alongside research activities he has also been involved in policy advice via membership of various policy committees and as chairman of the Danish economic council of economic advisors. 

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in October 1999.
