Arnaud Maurel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Duke University. He is also a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research.

He received his Ph.D. from Paris School of Economics and CREST. His main research interests are in Labor Economics/Education and Microeconometrics. Most of his non-methodological work lies at the intersection between the economics of education and labor economics, with a focus on post-secondary education demand and occupational choices. On the methodological side, his research is primarily concerned with the identification and estimation of selection and treatment effect models, and the combination of subjective expectations and observational data to test for rational expectations.

He joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in August 2008 and became a Research Fellow in December 2011.
