Bruce S. Shearer

Bruce Shearer is professor of economics at the Université Laval, located in Quebec City, Canada. He is also a Research Fellow of CIRPÉE (Centre Interuniversitaire sur le Risque, les Politiques Économiques et l'Emploi) and an Associate Fellow of CIRANO (Centre for Interuniversity Research and ANalysis on Organizations).

His research is in labour economics, specializing in the effects of different compensation systems on worker and firm performance. He has recently published in the Review of Economic Studies, the International Economic Review, the Journal of Human Resources and the Journal of the European Economic Association.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in March 2005.
