Andrey Launov is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Kent (Canterbury, UK). He holds a PhD from the University of Munich and has studied at the Institute for Advanced Studies, Vienna, (Programme in Economics), and the Odessa State University of Economics (Masters Degree). His main research interests lie in econometrics and labour economics with particular focus on search theory and structural estimation of search and matching models. He is also interested in a broader range of topics in applied econometrics, as well as in macroeconomics (related to labour, population and development).

He joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in May 2003 and became a Research Fellow in July 2005.
