Lea Cassar is Professor of Empirical Economics at the University of Regensburg (Germany) since October 2019.

She obtained a bachelor degree from LUISS (Italy), a master degree from the University of Oxford (UK) and a PhD from the University of Zurich (Switzerland), all in Economics. Before moving to the University of Regensburg, she was an Assistant Professor at the University of Cologne (Germany). Her research in the field of corporate social responsibility, job meaning, and nonmonetary incentives has been published in the major international scientific journals of economics and business such as The Review of Economics and Statistics, The Economic Journal, Management Science, Journal of Economic Perspectives, Journal of the European Economic Association, Journal of Law, Economics and Organization. Her research and teaching have also been covered by major media outlets, such as the SZ, The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal, ZEIT Campus, Forbes, HBR and the Spiegler.

Lea Cassar joined IZA as a Reseach Fellow in May 2023.
