Christian Haefke's main areas of interest are first the intersection of macro- and labor-economics and secondly computational methods and nonparametric econometrics. Recent projects have been about European unemployment, wage determination, product market deregulation, and the interaction between labor markets and monetary policy.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in July 2003.
