John Micklewright is Professor Emeritus of Economics and Social Statistics in the Department of Social Science, UCL Institute of Education, University College London. He joined the department in 2009 (and was head for 2011-13). His previous posts include Professor of Social Statistics at the University of Southampton, Head of Research at UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre, Florence, Professor of Economics at Queen Mary, University of London, and Professor of Economics at the European University Institute, Florence.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in December 2002.
