Andries de Grip is Professor of Economics at the School of Business and Economics, Maastricht University. In his research he has focused on various aspects of the relation between human capital development and the developments on the labour market. His current research interests include human capital development and depreciation, ageing and retirement, worker-job mismatch, informal learning, and firms' human resource management.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in July 2007.
