Peter F. Orazem is currently University Professor at Iowa State University. Recent assignments include being part of the Core Team, World Development Report 2007; and being a challenge paper writer on education for the Copenhagen Consensus 2008 and 2012. He received his Ph.D. from Yale University in 1983. His recent research focus has been on child labor, transition economies, information technologies, economic development, and entrepreneurship. His work was published in such journals as the American Economic Review, World Bank Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Review of Economics and Statistics, International Economic Review, and Economic Development and Cultural Change.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in March 2004.
