Paula Nagler is a Senior Economist at the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her research focuses on entrepreneurship and labour markets, inequality, and digital innovation. In addition to her academic research, she undertakes consultancy projects for international organizations and governments. Paula has approximately 15 years of experience in public policy analysis, impact evaluation, and microdata analysis. She has extensive experience working with household surveys and administrative databases. At IHS, she coordinates the Urban Data Analytics, Impact Evaluation, and Urban Inequality and Justice courses and teaches in the Urban Digital Innovation course.
Prior to her position in Rotterdam, she worked at Maastricht University and held positions at various international organizations, including IDB, UNDP, and OECD. She has also undertaken consultancy assignments for the World Bank, UNIDO, and political foundations. Paula obtained her PhD in Public Policy and Policy Analysis from United Nations University-MERIT (Maastricht, NL). During her PhD, she taught courses in public economics, econometrics, and public policy analysis.
Paula joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in April 2015 and became an IZA Research Fellow in December 2023.
