Eric Edmonds is a Professor of Economics at Dartmouth College and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Edmonds received his Ph.D. from Princeton University and an M.A. and B.A. in economics from the University of Chicago.

His research focuses on improving our empirical understanding of the reasons for the prevalence and persistence of child labor, illiteracy, and low levels of schooling attainment in low income countries. He is frequent speaker on child labor related issues, and he has also served as a consultant on child labor related issues to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the International Labour Organization, UNICEF, the World Bank, the Government of Vietnam, the U.S. State Department, and the U.S. Department of Labor.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in August 2006.
