Cristina Miller is a Research Economist in the Innovation Center at US Department of Agriculture Rural Development. She received her Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a M.S. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a M.A. in Political Science from the University of Birmingham (UK). She earned her Bachelor’s degree in International Economics and Marketing from Baylor University and was a Fulbright scholar in Germany.

Miller’s research primarily focuses on rural and farm/ranch household health and access to healthcare. She also conducts research on farmer mental health, suicide, chronic disease, and disability.

She serves as vice president and conference chair on the board of the Society of Government Economists in Washington, DC and on the board of Equality USDA.

She joined IZA as a Research Fellow in February 2020 in her personal capacity.
