Gadi Barlevy is a senior economist and economic advisor in the economic research department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. As a member of the microeconomics team, Mr. Barlevy conducts research on labor economics, as well as on economic fluctuations, growth, financial markets, and information economics. His research has appeared in the American Economic Review, Review of Economic Studies, European Economic Review, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Labor Economics, Journal of Monetary Economics, and Journal of Applied Probability. Prior to joining the Chicago Fed in August 2003, Barlevy was an assistant professor of economics at Northwestern University. He also was a visiting professor of economics at Tel Aviv University. He received a B.A. in economics from the University of California at Berkeley and a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University. He is currently associate editor at Theoretical Economics and the Journal of Economic Theory, and was previously a co-editor at the Review of Economic Dynamics and Theoretical Economics. He also served as associate editor at the European Economic Review. He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in July 2005.
