Samreen Malik is Associate Professor of Economics at New York University Abu Dhabi. She received her PhD in Economics from Cornell University, which she attended as a Fulbright scholar. She is an applied economist whose work spans development economics and macroeconomics. Alongside her IZA affiliation, she is an Investigator at the Center for Behavioral Institutional Design (C-BID) and an invited researcher at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL). She joined the IZA network as a Research Fellow in 2026.
