Maryam Naghsh Nejad

Maryam is a senior research fellow at CHERE at University of Technology Sydney. Prior to that she worked at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA) in Bonn, Germany. She was the deputy director of Growth and Labor Markets in Low Income Countries (GLM-LIC) at IZA where she worked with academic and policy makers globally on various labor market projects in low income countries.

She is an applied economist with strong analytical skills and a dynamic research portfolio, as well as experience of working with policy makers. She is interested in research in heath, gender, development and migration economics.

Maryam received her PhD in economics from West Virginia University in May 2013. She was an IZA research associate until August 2018 and IZA Research Fellow since September 2018.
