Stephen Trejo is a labor economist at the University of Texas at Austin. He received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago in 1988. Professor Trejo's research focuses on public policy issues, including overtime pay regulation, the labor market experiences of immigrants, and obstacles to the economic progress of minority groups.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in August 2000.
