Holger Stichnoth
Research Fellow

Holger Stichnoth is Head of the Research Group "Inequality and Public Policy" at ZEW - Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research in Mannheim, and Professeur conventionné at the University of Strasbourg. He studied economics at the Universities of Konstanz and Edinburgh and at Humboldt University Berlin and received his PhD from the Paris School of Economics in 2010.

His research interests are family economics, the microsimulation of taxes and transfers, and the measurement of inequality in the cross-section and over the lifecycle. He has coordinated numerous consulting projects for federal ministries and other institutions, and is a member of the expert commission for the Tenth Family Report, the selection committee of the ANR-DFG funding programme for the humanities and social sciences, the expert board of the program Effective Investments in Education at the Bertelsmann Foundation and of the scientific board for the evaluation of the Digital Social Security Statement at the German pension insurance (Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund).

Holger Stichnoth joined IZA as a Research Fellow in January 2023.
