Ingo Isphording obtained his Ph.D. from Ruhr University Bochum in 2013. His research focus lies primarily in the field of economics of education, with overlaps to labor economics and political economy. As an applied micro-econometrician he addresses policy-relevant questions on how social environments and individual behavior and decisions interact in determining the formation of skills and affect economic inequality.

Ingo has joined the IZA network as a Research Affiliate in April 2013. Currently, he is a Senior Research Associate at IZA in Bonn and heads the research team “Skill Formation”. He further acts as deputy coordinator for IZA’s program area “Economics of Education”. He is an affiliate in the CESifo network.
