Alessio Fusco holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis (France). He has joined LISER in 2005. His research interests are on applied microeconomic topics related to the analysis of inequality, poverty and social assistance and on the measurement of various concepts such as multiple deprivation, income polarization or social polarization. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Economics Letters, Economic Modelling, The European Journal of Health Economics, The Journal of Economic Psychology or The Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics. He was principal investigator on CORE research grants from the Luxembourg Fonds National de la recherche for 'Investigating the Mechanisms of Reliance to Social Assistance' and 'the dynamics and persistence of poverty in Luxembourg' and he participated to several EU-funded infrastructure projects (InGRID) and research projects about the measurement of material deprivation in Europe (Net-SILC) or the impact of growing inequalities on the society (GINI). He recently led a large scale process evaluation of Luxembourg minimum income scheme carried out by LISER on behalf of the Ministry of Family and Integration.
