Erik Plug
Erik Plug
Research Fellow

Erik Plug is Professor of Economics at the University of Amsterdam. Erik is research fellow at Tinbergen Institute, Uppsala Center for Labor Studies (UCLS), IZA, and CESifo. He currently serves as an Associate Editor at the Economic Journal. Erik has been the president of the European Association of Labour Economists (EALE) and European Society of Population Economics (ESPE). He received his Ph.D in Economics from the University of Amsterdam in 1997.

His main research interests relate to family, education and labour economics. His work is published in, among others, American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Economic Literature, Journal of Labor Economics, Journal of Human Resources, and Journal of Public Economics.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in November 2000.
