Silvio Rendon is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Economics at Georgetown University and a consultant specializing in AI training for economics. He previously served as an Executive Director at the Inter-American Development Bank. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from New York University and a B.A. in Economics from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.

Previously, he served as an Executive Director at the Inter-American Development Bank and held positions at Freddie Mac and the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. In academia, he has been an Assistant Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, ITAM, and Stony Brook University, and has visited The University of Western Ontario and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.

Silvio's research interests center on the structural estimation of dynamic models, particularly the joint determination of job search and savings, and the role of higher-order risk preferences (prudence). His work also covers firm investment, migration, and development topics, including the Latin American economy and human rights.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in May 2007.
