Joachim Weimann is Professor of Economic Policy at Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg. He has studied economics at the University of Bielefeld. His research interests include happiness, environmental economics, economic policy, labor market and experimental economics. He is head of the MaXLab, the Magdeburg Laboratory for experimental economics. His research has been published in, inter alia, the Economic Journal, Journal of Public Economics, Public Choice, Kyklos, European Journal of Politcal Economy, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics.

Hw was an IZA Research Fellow from October 2011 until October 2016.
