Florian Zimmermannn is Research Director at IZA and Professor at the University of Bonn. He served as Professor and Research Director at the briq Institute on Behavior & Inequality from 2019-2023 until briq’s reintegration into IZA. After finishing his PhD in 2013 at the Bonn Graduate School of Economics (University of Bonn), he worked at the University of Zurich until 2017. He studied economics at the University of Mannheim and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He was a visiting researcher at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and Harvard University. His papers are published in journals such as the American Economic Review, Review of Economic Studies, Management Science and Journal of Financial Economics. He serves as Associate Editor at the Quarterly Journal of Economics as well as the Journal of the European Economic Association and is on the editorial board of the Review of Economic Studies.

His main research interests are behavioral and experimental economics, as well as behavioral finance and labor economics.
