Sebastian Königs is Senior Economist at the OECD, Directorate for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs - Jobs and Income Division.
At the OECD, Sebastian works on labour market and social inequalities, income mobility, middle classes, and the design of social protection systems. He leads the work on a new infrastructure to exploit administrative microdata on disposable household incomes for cross-country analysis of income dynamics and inequalities.
Sebastian holds a DPhil (PhD) in Economics from the University of Oxford, a graduate degree in Economics from HEC Lausanne and an undergraduate degree from the University Maastricht. He previously worked as a part-time researcher at Statistics Norway and as a consultant for the OECD and the World Bank.
Sebastian joined the IZA network in 2013 as a Research Affiliate. He became a Research Fellow in 2023.
