Inaugural IZA@LISER Conference in Labour Economics to be held in Luxembourg in December

We are very happy to announce the Inaugural IZA@LISER Conference in Labour Economics, which will take place on 10-11 December 2026, at the Abbaye de Neumünster in Luxembourg.

The conference marks a new chapter for the global IZA research network, founded by the Institute of Labor Economics in Bonn and now hosted institutionally by LISER. We aim to bring together researchers from the IZA@LISER Network and the wider international research community to present and discuss cutting-edge work in labour economics and related fields.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

We look forward to having two keynotes and a special guest:

• Patricia Cortés (Boston University)
• Benjamin Schoefer (UC Berkeley)

Special guest speaker: Daniel S. Hamermesh (UT Austin & RHUL)

TOPICS

We invite submissions on labour economics, education, family economics, gender economics, inequality, innovation, migration, and the political economy of labour-market institutions.

POLICY ROUNDTABLE

In addition to scientific sessions, the conference will feature a policy roundtable, co-organised by the LISER Policy Lab and J-PAL Europe, highlighting the role of evidence-based research in informing labour-market and social policies.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Interested researchers should submit a full paper (preferred) or an extended abstract (at least 1,500 words) in PDF format.
