Joop Hartog
Research Fellow

Hartog Joop Hartog is Director of Research at the Economics Department of the University of Amsterdam. He is also affiliated with the SCHOLAR research institute at the University of Amsterdam.
He received his M.A. in economics from Queen's University in Kingston, Canada in 1971 and his Ph.D. from the Erasmus University Rotterdam in 1978.
He is founder and editor (1994-1999) of Labour Economics and a member of the editorial board of Labour Economics and of the Economics of Education Review since 1999.
He has published widely in such economics journals as European Economic Review, De Economist, Economics Letters, Applied Economics, Economics of Education Review and European Journal of Political Economy.
His current research interests are in microeconomics and labor markets.

Joop Hartog joined IZA as a Research Fellow in October 1999.
