Janneke Pieters completed her PhD at the University of Groningen in 2011. During her PhD she also spent time as visiting researcher at the University of Goettingen.
Her main research interests are labor markets and inequality in developing countries, female labor force participation, informality, and international trade. She has published papers in World Development and the Journal of Development Studies.
Janneke became Research Associate at IZA in September 2011, and Deputy Program Director for the special Program "Growth and Labour Markets in Low Income Countries".
