Emanuele Brancati is an Associate Professor of Economics at Sapienza University of Rome, Department of Economics and Law. He holds a bachelor and master degree in Economic Policy from Sapienza University, and a Ph.D. in Money and Finance from Tor Vergata University of Rome, with a visiting period at Boston College. He spent four years at LUISS Guido Carli as a post-doc and one year at Parthenope University of Naples as an Assistant Professor of Economics.

His research -mainly focusing on applied micro, macro, and financial economics- appears in leading journals, such as Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial Intermediation, and Journal of Economic Geography. Emanuele’s professional experiences include participation and coordination of international research projects, as well as consulting for regional and national institutions. His research has been presented at leading academic conferences, such as the NBER Summer Institute, Western Finance Association, and CESifo/Ifo conference, as well as non-academic institutions, such as the Bank of Italy, European Commission, and OECD.

Emanuele Brancati joined IZA as a Research Fellow in March 2021.
