Yang Yumei is an Assistant Professor at Beijing Forestry University starting from September 2012. She obtained her Ph.D. in Economics at School of Labor and Human Resources, Remin University of China in June 2012, and she received her M.A. in Economics from Renmin University of China in 2008 and B.A. in Management from Shandong University in 2006.

Her interests include Labor Economics, Personnel Economics and Human Resources Management, with a focus on the rural-urban migration in China, development of left-behind children, evaluation of labor market program and the impact of HRM on labor relations.

She stayed at IZA as a Visiting Ph.D. student from September 2010 until September 2011, then became a Research Affiliate and was appointed as a Research Fellow in July 2014.
