Lizi Yu is a lecturer (assistant professor) of Economics at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. She is an applied microeconomist with research interests in labor markets and personnel economics. Her research in personnel economics studies the turnover costs and the effectiveness of goal setting in real workplaces. Her research in labor market studies age bias in hiring decisions, workers’ job search adaptations in response to negative shocks, and female representation in a male-dominated profession.

She obtained her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2020.
