Bart Golsteyn (PhD, Maastricht University 2007) is an associate professor at the Department of Economics at Maastricht University. He is affiliated to the Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA, Maastricht University), the Swedish Institute for Social Research (SOFI, Stockholm University) and the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA).

His main research interests are in economic preference parameters (time and risk preferences) and economics of education. He published among others in PNAS (twice), Economic Journal (twice), Journal of the European Economic Association, and PLOS ONE (twice). In 2016, he won a VIDI grant from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO).

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in August 2007 and visited IZA from March-August 2008 and in January-February 2019.
