Ilan Tojerow is Professor of Economics at the Université libre de Bruxelles and Director of DULBEA, ULB’s applied-economics center. His work uses advanced econometric methods and rich administrative data to evaluate labour-market policies for vulnerable groups, from disability-benefit and unemployment recipients to low-skilled women. Recent projects include discrete-choice experiments on jobseekers’ training, a regression-discontinuity study of Belgium’s job-search monitoring, and RCTs of return-to-work programmes and job coaching for disability claimants. Combining rigorous research with close cooperation
with public agencies, Tojerow produces evidence-based recommendations that inform Belgian and European policy.
