Anne E. Winkler

Anne E. Winkler is Professor of Economics at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She received her Ph.D. in economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and her undergraduate degree in economics from Wesleyan University. She is on the Editorial Board of Social Science Quarterly She previously served as 2nd Vice President of the Midwest Economics Association, President of the St. Louis Chapter of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE), as a Board Member of CSWEP (Committee on the Status of Women in Economics). Her research focuses on the interrelationships between labor, gender, and family. Her work has appeared in academic journals including Journal of Human Resources, Research in Labor Economics, Monthly Labor Review, Demography, Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, Management Science, and Journal of Urban Economics. She is coauthor with Francine Blau of the (most recent) 9th edition of the Economics of Women, Men, and Work (Oxford University Press, 2022). She coauthored the 8th edition of the text with Francine Blau (Oxford University Press) and the 3rd-7th editions of the text (PrenticeHall/Pearson) with Francine Blau and Marianne Ferber. She joined IZA as a Research Fellow in May 2011.
