Menno Pradhan is Professor of Economics at the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He holds affiliations with the Tinbergen Institute, the Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development (AIGHD), and J-PAL (Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab).
His research is in applied microeconomics, with a focus on governance of health and education service delivery in low- and middle-income countries. He also works on poverty measurement and access to services, drawing on impact evaluations and household surveys in countries including Indonesia, Ghana, Kenya, and Uganda. Before joining academia, he worked for the World Bank in Indonesia and Washington, D.C.
