Alex Eble

Alex Eble is Assistant Professor of Economics and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University.

He is an applied microeconomist, and his research focuses primarily on the economics of education in developing countries. Much of his work focuses on the behavioral economics of education, including the role of early sources of information such as gender bias in driving educational investments.
He also works on raising literacy and numeracy levels in particularly poor and remote parts of the world, such as rural India, Gambia, and Guinea Bissau.

He received his BA from Indiana University, Bloomington, MSc from the London School of Economics, and PhD in Economics from Brown University.

Alex Eble joined IZA as a Research Fellow in February 2019.
