François Langot is Professor at the Le Mans University (GAINS-TEPP). He is deputy director of the Risk and Insurance Institute of the Le Mans University. He is Associated Professor at Paris School of Economics (PSE), research fellow at Cepremap. He received his Ph.D. in economics at the Paris I University (Pantheon-Sorbonne) in 1993.

His current research fields are the evaluation of labor market policy, the analysis of retirement decisions, the job search and matching theories and health economics. His research interests also include business cycle theory. Among other journals, he has published in the Journal of Labor Economics, International Economic Review, Journal of Public Economics, Economic Journal, Journal of European Economic Association, Review of Economic Dynamics, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, European Economic Journal, Journal of Applied Econometrics and Macroeconomic Dynamics.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in March 2007.
