Jiee Zhong is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Miami University and a Research Affiliate at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA). She received her Ph.D. in Economics from Texas A&M University in 2024. Her research lies at the intersection of education, labor, environmental, and health economics, with a particular focus on how public policies and environmental factors shape human capital development and long-term labor market outcomes. Her work employs advanced causal inference methods and large-scale administrative data to study topics including grade retention, early childhood education, environmental pollution, and educational policy. Her research has been published in the Journal of Urban Economics and is forthcoming in the American Economic Journal: Applied Economics.
