Md Amzad Hossain is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Economics from the University of Virginia. Before this, he served as a lecturer at the University of Dhaka, where he obtained his M.A. and B.A. degrees in economics. His research interests are at the intersection of development and labor economics. His research has focused on higher education, human capital, the labor market, and violence in developing countries, focusing on gender disparity. His research has often relied on unique administrative data that he has collected from different government offices and academic institutions. He has also taken part in implementing field experiments.
