Mathilde Munoz is an Assistant Professor in the department of Economics at UC Berkeley and a NBER faculty research fellow. Her research focuses on the interaction between globalization and redistribution, by studying how trade and migration flows respond to international differences in personal taxes and labor market regulations, and by estimating how those flows shape inequalities within and across countries. She has been awarded the Young Economist Prize from the International Institute for Public Finance in 2019, the best Young Economist Essay award from the World Trade Organization in 2022, and the best PhD prize from the AFSE in 2023.

Mathilde Munoz joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in July 2023.
